Wedding Ring Size after Acromegaly surgery
My wedding ring has become smaller! A few months after having transphenoidal surgery for my acromegaly I notice that my wedding ring had become very loose. As I was not sure how my fingers would change over time, or whether I was in remission or not I put away my wedding ring and wore a cheap stainless steel ring. Naturally, I have to fend off the women somehow.
I have thankfully continued to be in remission of acromegaly, due to the brilliant surgery by Mr Kanna Gnanalingham and God’s hand so we thought it about time we dust off the wedding ring to get it shrunk. To our amazement, my ring finger size had dropped from a “Z+1” to a “V”. The ring sizing letters didn’t mean a great deal to us, but looking at the ring sizes on the ‘ring sizer thing’ at the jewelers is quite dramatic.
I am now 7months post op and my wedding ring is also going to reducing,I had a piece put in about 8 years ago,I have also noticed reduction in shoe size,my nose and face has reduced tongue has also lost its swelling all in all great outcome 😎
Great news Trystan and hope all is well J
This last week I had some similar news as part of the ATL1103 drug trial.
Take care,
Richard
This blog has been great to read, I found it about 18 months ago when my husband was going through tests for Acromegaly and it gave me so much information. He had his 2nd operation in April and like you received normal results 3 months later. His wedding ring is also getting loose, but having read this maybe we will wait a little longer before shrinking it! If you have any more updates with how you are now it would be great to hear.
Hiya Laura,
Thank you for your kind words. I hope your husband is doing well by now. It’s good to hear that his wedding ring is getting looser too. I probably left mine too long before I had mine re-fitted. If his condition is well controlled then there is no real reason to having his wedding ring refitted sooner.
I’m still doing great – I’ve nothing new to report on Acromegaly, and in a way I’m trying to put it behind me a fair bit too.
